Some of what it takes to get Carleton Place prepared for planned summer activities has already been done.
Chief Administrative Officer Diane Smithson says the Town has spent 35.5 thousand dollars to replace a refrigeration unit at one ice plant and install new side-stream brine filter kits, one for each surface- to support the inauguration of Summer Ice June 23rd.
The focus now shifts to repairs at the Carleton Place Pool.
Smithson says there are some unknowns as to the extent of the repairs reqired, so elected representatives have allotted an additional envelope of 36,374 dollars to take care of contingencies.
