United Counties of Leeds and Grenville council met for the final time before their summer break late last month.
They covered a number of bases, including the approval of the annual Housing and Homelessness Plan for 2022. The three goals in the plan continue to be maintaining current affordable housing programs and services, enhancing those services to reflect the changing needs of the community, and involving stakeholders in the development and application of the plan.
UCLG also passed a resolution to support the elimination of a LCBO mark-up and wine levy applicable for Ontario wineries that aren’t part of the Vintner Quality Alliance and sell 100% Ontario win directly to a licensee.
There’s a scheduled council meeting for the 27th and a special committee meeting on the 31st, before a slated break until September.
