The 2022/23 Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital annual report included usage statistics of just how busy the rural sites are.
There’s currently 84 job openings across the two locations for those looking to join the 734 total full or part time staff members including 223 physicians. 74 fresh faces were brought in last year.
Together, more than 40,000 visits were made to the emergency rooms, 3,445 admissions occurred, and 151 babies were delivered.
4,100 surgeries took place, and more than 5,300 CT scans and 302,000 lab tests were conducted.
Work continues to build the MRI suite in Smiths Falls with the hospital predicting will support 3,100 scans per year when it launches in October.
