Integrity Commissioner J. David Wake has found local MPP and Housing Minister Steve Clark broke two sections of the Members Integrity Act in a report released today.
Wake says Clark contravened the act by “failing to oversee the process by which lands in the Greenbelt were selected to development.”
The report found this led to “the private interests of certain developers being furthered improperly.”
Wake says it was ultimately Clark’s responsibility to supervise his staff.
Wake’s recommending Clark be reprimanded for the ethics violations.
However, Doug Ford’s standing strong against the mounting calls for Clark’s resignation.
A statement from the premier’s office reads “Minister Clark will continue to work towards delivering on our promise to build at least 1.5 million homes and ensure public trust and confidence is maintained every step of the way.
Clark says he accepts the findings of the report as “as minister, the buck stops with me.”
