The Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Carleton Place Legion say the Catch the Ace Jackpot has been won.
‘Acey’ as the card became known remained active for a total of 46 weeks.
The winner, a local woman identified as “C. Frost” won not only the weekly prize of close to $19 thousand, but also the progressive prize of just over $294 thousand. She plans to pay down debt and take a small family trip.
Money raised goes to help purchase equipment for the hospital and fund programs at the legion.
The town I grew up in, Hagersville, recently went a similar duration, ending in Aoril. The winner took home neighboring 2 million. A great community fundraiser.
