People have been wondering about the fate of Furry Tales Cat Rescue in Drummond/North Elmsley after complaints from a neighbour led to a review by the town of the operation.
A public meeting on the subject earlier in the summer drew dozens of supporters of the rescue who are asking the town to please keep it open.
Drummond/North Elmsley Reeve Steve Fournier says we may get an answer after a report from their town planner at council’s first meeting in October. Either way, those who showed their support in council chambers will be notified.
Depending on what is said Council could have a decision that night.
Among the complaints being examined by the neighbour was that the rescue’s operations increased traffic to the area. A new building on the grounds of the rescue was built and the land it sits on is the subject of a rezoning request.
We will have updates on this story as they become available.
