Municipal Councils across our listening area are recognizing this coming Saturday, September 30th as National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
You can hear a special broadcast throughout the day called a Day to Listen on Lake 88 as we feature inspiration and historic stories and teachings from Indigenous leaders across our country.
In Smiths Falls a 7:15 p.m. Sunset Ceremony will be held. Indigenous Elders will provide invaluable insight, guidance and teachings as we honour and remember all the victims and survivors of Residential School abuse.
The Smiths Falls water tower will also be lit in Orange for a week starting Friday, and the Survivors Flag will be flown at Lower Reach Park.
