On this week’s Grant Can Cook, I tackled chicken quesadillas. But we’re not diving into that as much as you might expect.
You know how to cook chicken quesadillas. You chop up some ingredients, whatever you want (I simply went with tomatoes and some peppers this week), and you cook them on the stovetop, throw them in a tortilla with the chicken, melt some grated cheese and bada bing bada boom, you have your chicken quesadilla. They’re so customizable, it’s really up to you on what you want to do with them.
But let me dive into the best way to cook chicken breasts. It’s revolutionary, I’d say.
The best way to cook chicken breasts:
- Place your seasoned-how-you-like-them chicken breasts in the pan on the stove, which is set to high.
- Very important: cover the pan/skillet with the lid. Trust me.
- Sear both sides for one minute on each side.
- Afterwards, turn the stove element down to medium.
- Cook for ten minutes, WITH the cover of the pan still on.
- After that is done, turn the stove element off entirely.
- Let the chicken breasts sit on the recently turned off element for another ten minutes. They’ll still be cooking for a while longer as the element cools down.
- After that’s finished, plate them and let them rest before slicing and dicing.
Then, you’re done, guys and gals. That’s it. Perfectly cooked chicken in 20-ish minutes.
This was supposed to be a feature on how I made chicken quesadillas, which are super easy. Instead, I just rocked your world on how to cook chicken. A’int that something?
See you next week for stuffed peppers.
