You blew us away again as week 2 of the RCL Automotive Build a Mountain of Food co-presented by Lake 88 saw the campaign make stops in Perth and Rideau Highlands.
In Perth, 53,266 lbs. of food was collected and $14,746.62 donated.
Matthew Barnabe, owner-operator of Banarbe’s Your Independent Grocer donated 25,000 pounds of food to the cause, and says he’s amazed by the generosity every year (see video below for more).
Gord Brown’s Giant Tiger donated another 20,000 pounds of Food, and Metro’s annual shopping challenge saw more than $4,500 in groceries donated (see video below).
Build a Mountain’s Jim Wright spoke with The Good Food Bank’s Wendy Quarrington as the day was wrapping up. She spoke to the dedication of local grocers and volunteers who make it happen.
Lanark Highlands saw 360 lbs. of food collected, and the small community raised an incredible $9,136.60 for the cause, including $2,500 from the Lanark Civitan.
