The annual Christmas for Lonely Seniors campaign is underway in Smiths Falls.
It sees volunteers put together gift bags for seniors who are alone, and wouldn’t get to celebrate Christmas.
Organizer Dawn Quinn says they even get local kids involved.
They started with 40 gifts. That’s now grown to more than 300.
Quinn remembers one gentleman in particular. She delivered his gift and said this is just something small for you.
Among the items they’re looking for are socks, mitts or gloves, toothpaste and other toiletries, word search and other puzzle books, small calendars, Christmas candy, and adult colouring books.
You can drop off donations at the Garden Market, Giant Tigers or Dawn’s Closet in Smiths Falls.
To let them know about a senior who would benefit from the program, just call 613-284-2664.
