Small communities continue to feel the food cost pinch, just like bigger commuities and big cities.
The Portland Food Bank’s Louise Martin tells us they’re not exempt.
Martin says the extra demand and high prices of food mean that their costs are up by 60% per year. She adds demand for their services has increased in her communiuty, and that’s just the beginning of the challenges they face.
They should get some help this weekend when the RCL Automotive Build a Mountain of Food Stops by the LCBO and RBC this Saturday from 9 am until 12.
We’ll tell you about the stop in Merrickville tomorrow.
