There were few questions for staff and town councillors about a rare proposal to expropriate almost 100 acres of farmland in Carleton Place.
The land was divided into four independent parcels. One of the owners, John Southwell Jr, told the committee meeting that no one contacted him.
The committee voted unanimously to move the item forward to the next council meeting for ratification.

Is it for MORE houses? Are we going to hire more police and firemen? We DO NOT WANT ANYMORE HOUSES. Our streets are already clogged, and traffic makes it impossible for us to get out of our driveways, and the police will NOT enforce laws. In the past 6 years, criminal activity has already increased too much! Somehow please share this message with whomever is doing this!
