Anne Janssen asked this week for a $25,000 from the Town of Smiths Falls to support the Hospice Hub’s efforts to build a network of their free community-led services in the town.
Janssen says one’s death is about the people around them.
Councillor Jay Brennan is happy MPP John Jordan supports the work the Hospice Hub does, and told the Hub’s Anne Janssen the province should back that up with funding.
Councillor Peter McKenna told Janssen she likely set the table for municipal funding in 2025 as this year’s budget is almost set, while noting the additional financial downloading the province has put on municipalities has put them in a tricky spot.
