Al Roberts is retiring after 9 years with the Almonte General Hospital Fairview Manor Foundation as its Managing Director.
In an interview with myFM he said it’s been nothing short of a joy to work in the community that cares so passionately about supporting local healthcare, and he’s accomplished everything he set out to achieve when taking the position.
He agrees the foundation is entering a new era, with Roberts and long-time MRHA President and CEO Mary Wilson Trider also stepping down.
He said he sees himself as a conductor, playing the notes the incredible community support gives him, because without that the work cannot be done.
Roberts’ last day is July 31st. Until then he’ll continue to work on the annual Run/Walk, the hospital lottery, and planning the official opening of the CT scanner.
In the coming weeks, the Board of Directors will establish a search committee to undertake the important task of recruiting a new Managing Director to take the Foundation into the future.
