Lanark County’s Climate Environmental Coordinator Elizabeth Gallant recently presented the 2024 workplan to council.
Included in it were the eight priority initiatives previously identified to be accomplished by the end of the term in 2026.
Part of that is also seeing how much pollution the county is putting out through a greenhouse gas emissions inventory, as Gallant explains.
The last time an inventory took place was in 2019. Gallant doesn’t expect to see a significant shift between the last report and this one, but it’s a good measuring stick to track their progress.
