Fort Henry is one of the locations where a professional solar eclipse viewing site will be open to the public.
Director of Historic Sites for the St. Lawrence Parks Commission Geoff Waycik (Jeff Way-sic) tells us that event combines comfort with knowledge.
Waycik says planning for the eclipse started almost a year ago allowing them to put together an impressive program at Fort Henry headlined by Bob McDonald from CBC’s Quirks and Quarks science show.
Waycik says McDonald will also be the main presenter at Fort Henry on the day of the eclipse.
Other guests include a speaker from Queens University and there will be a sharing of personal poems on the significance of the sky and stars to the Mohawk community.
On Monday Waycik will be on 88.1 myFM to talk about the eclipse program organized for Upper Canada Village in Morrisburg.
