Mississippi Mills provided an update on the cenotaph renovation in Almonte.
The main portion of work has been completed.
Further work will continue over the next few weeks, focusing on cleaning the Cenotaph structure and repainting the names.
Flower beds will be planted by the Almonte & District Horticultural Society in the next few weeks as well.
Back in April students visiting a local cemetery to place stones on veterans’ graves uncovered a local soldier whose name is was missing from the cenotaph. As a result Private George B Monterville’s name will be added to honour his First World War service.
