The strike is over for CUPE Local 2577 workers at Family and Children’s Services of Lanark, Leeds and Grenville.
A deal was reached between the union and the organization by the slimmest of margins. Union members voted to ratify the new 18-month contract by 51%.
It’s not an ideal end to the saga, said chapter president Arlette Carrier.
Lake 88 asked Carrier if she thinks they might strike again when this contract ends.
Strike action began July 12th after nearly 18 months of negotiations failed to produce a contract.
