Deep sighs and eyerolls were aplenty around the Lanark County chambers as Manager of Public Works Sean Derouin delivered an update on the Andrewsville Bridge.
The county made the call in April to replace the cost-shared jointly-owned bridge as its become unsafe, and have been waiting since on United Counties of Leeds Grenville to make a decision one way or another.
But Derouin delivered bad news for those hoping that was coming soon.
The bridge stayed closed all year as the county insurers wouldn’t give the green light for any form of travel, and that’s not expected to change until a replacement is built.
Councillor Richard Kidd says it’s time to send a hardline message to their bordering county.
UCLG made the decision to defer the matter further during their committee of the whole meeting on November 8th.
