The Smiths Falls Chambers of Commerce Cantina has hit a snag and they’re asking council for help.
They were recently told Parks Canada, who own the property along the waterfront and lease it out to the town, did not support the installation of a cantina along the waterfront, and are essentially back at square one.
Councillor Peter McKenna is let down by their decision.
Councillor Dawn Quinn says they should encourage a quick and favourable resolution.
The town unanimously supported the cantina last year.
The chamber asked council to engage with discussions with Parks Canada to hopefully reverse the decision, which they agreed.
