Lanark County Council recently showed its support for a resolution by the Township of Cramahe to write the federal and provincial governments asking for “meaningful improvements” to catch and release justice in Ontario.
It says police across the province are “exhausting precious time and resources” by arresting the same suspects over and over.
The result they say is lower morale in the force, and for law-abiding citizens who are paying the often significant financial and emotional toll of this broken system.”
The resolution is being widely circulated across Ontario.
