A land owner in Carleton Place whose property is being proposed for expropriation had some harsh words at a council meeting where a vote was being held on the matter.
Julie Southwell Reis (Reese) provided a long list of municipally-owned properties that would better fit the town’s needs than hers.
She warned that council’s action would create a stain on Carleton Place’s history.
Council voted to defer the matter to a future meeting.
