The proposed layout of the new garage
For the second time, Lanark County’s Corporate Services Committee has agreed to spend up to $750,000 for the expansion of the ambulance bay in Almonte.
The committee initially voted in favour of the motion in April, but at a follow up meeting, the county asked for a 10-year paramedic capital resource plan be made prior to approving the funds.
Speaking with several stakeholders in recent weeks had changed Reeve Steve Fournier’s mind.
Councillor Toby Randell explained why they should do the project now.
The resource plan will still move ahead, and the expansion would require additional council approval if costs exceed $750,000.
